The 10 Best WordPress Themes for Personal Trainers 2015

A professional looking website is an essential for everyone with a serious business. A personal trainer is no exception. If you use Wordpress to run your site, take a look at our top 10 themes to give you an edge over your competitors.

1.     Fitness

I really like this theme. The red header appeals to customers straight away and draws in their attention. Red is always a good colour because, as simple as it sounds, it related to a lot of popular sports teams; and those who follow sports are typically the more active. The yellow headings of services they offer also attracts attention.

2. FitPro

This theme is very image-heavy. This is a great way of drawing in readers attention. No one wants to read hundreds of words to find out what a trainer can offer. Every heard the saying “a picture tells a thousand words”? Well here’s the proof.

3.     Balance

There has been a lot of research into what colour background is more preferred. There was conclusive evidence that lighter backgrounds work better. This is shown at the top of this theme. The lighter background makes the writing stands out, and then the green works well with the darker shades.

Simplicity is key with this WordPress theme. It allows social media posts to be link at the bottom and places a schedule in the centre. Clients can easily see benefits of joining with the “join now” buttons in the centre of the home page.

This theme looks the real deal. The responsiveness of the theme automatically gives it a more professional feel. Although it initially doesn’t seem to show much information, it begins to make the reader want to know more and stay on the site longer. A big benefit in terms of SEO.

The in shape theme again look very professional. I like the addition of the BMI calculator at the bottom. Features like this really gets any website visitors involved and that improves the overall experience. Putting potential clients in the right frame of mind and giving them the impression that you know what you’re doing.

The Gym Guide theme has an orange header and white body background. These are both proven to give good results. As mentioned above, white backgrounds were apparently favored by website visitors. Orange however is beginning to be used in gyms around the world as it has psychological benefits and gives off a feeling of energy.

8. Aegon

Another responsive website. I really like the look of this theme. The statistics in the middle are a nice touch and the whole page has a modern but professional feel. It’s very image-heavy yet informative. The “meet the trainers” section adds a personal touch and then the final price information means the website visitor knows exactly what they offer.

9. Fit+

Super-responsive site. The half men/half women is a great feature. It automatically shows that the owner caters for everyone. The main menu at the top is clear and easy to navigate. The heavy image based landing page instantly attracts attention. This means the reader wants to know more about this PT. As long as the choice of the main image is a good one, this could be really effective in turning hits into paying clients.

This theme displays a fairly simple black/white colour scheme however still has a professional feel. The responsive scroll feature is quite cool and the navigation menu at the top is easy to understand. Simplicity is key here. The main layout leaves the left side of the site for widgets and other designs, where the right hand side is kept for content and customer information. This could be really useful in adding staff bio’s and customer reviews to the side for added professionalism.
