The GoPro Hero 4 Black is capable of "time bending" slow motion effects and also includes an improved microphone with twice the dynamic range of previous GoPro models. Image quality is also improved with low-light capture better than before. The Hero 4 Black is available from 5 October for £369.99.
Next in the new line is the GoPro Hero 4 Silver, which ditches 4K in favour of 2.7k at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, 720p at 120fps and 960p at 100fps. The Silver also has a touchscreen for "ease of use" instead of the video performance of the Hero 4 Black. Also available from 5 October, the Silver costs £289.99.
GoPro also announced a new budget camera. The basic GoPro Hero costs £99.99 and follows in the tradition of rugged, waterproof action cameras. It can capture 1080p video at 30fps and 720p at 60fps. It can also capture bursts of photos at up to 5fps. As with the Hero 4 Black and Hero 4 Silver the standard Hero launches on 5 October.
To promote the launch of the new GoPro range the company released a new video showing some of the footage captured on the new Hero 4 Black. The four minute advert features footage from mountains, volcanos and concerts.
